We knew from the first day we stepped into this gem it was going to be the perfect family beach oasis. It has a so much space both inside and outside and we couldn't wait to get our hands on it to update the crap out of it!
This home didn't need a single structural change to make it better. What it did need was a little lipstick and accessories! Some pretty paint in strategic places, updated flooring and hardware, and new light fixtures did wonders for the house,
For the outside of this home, we added new landscaping to both the front and back of the house as well as a little spruce to the entry breezeway. This house is a block from a private beach and if the guests are not coming back home with some sand on their legs, they're not doing it right. Heck, even if we didn't have any sand on us, we'd want to rinse off in the outdoor shower, which is surrounded by a living wall we designed with Lush Elements.
The overall vibe of the house is a true Modern California beach house. Warm, worn woods; neutral colors with pops you'd see in Mid-Century modern homes and nature (hint: think deep ocean blues!); and natural elements that bring the outdoors inside.
The loudest design element (and brightest pop of color) might be the rich blue we carried through the kitchen as well as two of the three bathrooms in the house. It's a beach house so we needed that deep Pacific Ocean blue color somewhere, right?!
