As the weather has begun teasing us with hints of summer this week, we began dreaming of updating our patios and thinking about some of our favorite outdoor situations! We are so lucky to have gotten to work on some amazing outdoor spaces and wanted to highlight a few of our favorites to date - check them out below!
#TheHighlandHouse has one of the biggest outdoor areas we've been fortunate enough to design with the talented the RMLA team! We put in all new hardscaping, added a custom metal pergola over the dining area to define the space, added a fire pit oasis, a lounge area situated just off custom 10' wide bifold doors in the main house, a bocci ball court aaaaaaand it still had enough area for a small citrus orchard! It was an amazing outdoor space that we are truly missing as we head into these warmer months!
Realistically, most people don't have the budget to completely overhaul their backyard, so we have a few things we like to do when we want to refresh a space.

1. Whenever we have the opportunity we love to add outdoor rugs to help anchor spaces and create a cozy vibe. We tend to gravitate towards neutral colors to help create a relaxing space - it seems to be our thing and we can't say we are upset about it!

2. We love to mix and match throw pillows in outdoor spaces, the furniture can be an investment but outdoor throw pillows are a fun way to freshen up a space on a tight budget. Places like Wayfair, Target and your local Home Goods can have some great affordable options - especially this time of year! Click the links above to see how we like to search for our pillows in the endless sea of options!
3. Outdoor lanterns, potted plants and even rearranging your current setup can create a fresh, new look!

Now we're really feeling the motivation to get our patios all set and ready for Summer nights and BBQ's with friends and family!
Thanks for stopping by the blog, friends!
